Andar Brand Guidelines
The designed-in-Arizona leather wallet.

Two constants: a cognac palette and a classical-serif register. Abstract homage — not an Andar product or mark; no wallet or logo is reproduced.
The designed-in-Arizona leather wallet
Andar is the independent, founder-led leather-goods brand designed in Gilbert, Arizona and made overseas, whose name is the Spanish verb meaning “to walk” or “to carry.”
Andar closes the slim-carry round as its second honest designed-here-made-there brand — a full-grain leather wallet maker that runs its design and fulfilment from Arizona while manufacturing abroad. It was founded in 2015 by Jacob Elggren, a former accountant, and takes its name from the Spanish verb andar, meaning to walk, to carry, to go — a word he picked up while living in Uruguay. Andar makes and sells the wallets, and its answer to a round about where things are made is best told plainly: designed in the United States, made overseas.
Its identity is the designed-in-Arizona leather wallet. The full-grain leather, the slim minimalist wallets and the walk-and-carry name are the story here. A wallet, designed here and made there. The designed-in-Arizona leather wallet.
(Honest notes, so a geography is corrected and a where-made claim is kept honest. Andar sells leather wallets as its heroes — the Baron, the Pilot and the Ranger, plus the Mag MagSafe wallet — and we report its performance language as the brand’s own. On geography, a correction: Andar is based in Gilbert, Arizona; some older write-ups place it in California, but the better-sourced record is Arizona, so we place it there. It is independent and founder-led, with the founder’s brother among its principals. On where it is made, the point that carries the round: Andar designs, inspects and ships from Arizona, but its products are manufactured overseas, primarily in China — so its “handcrafted by a team in Arizona” language describes the design-and-fulfilment operation, not the factory, and we say “designed in the US, made overseas,” never American-made. Its designs are IP we describe but do not reproduce; there is no official brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)
Colour
Andar lives in a cognac. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Andar’s identity is warm, classic and understated — a cognac, an ink, a pale tan, a deep leather, and a paper. The palette leans cognac and pale tan: a full-grain-leather register that nods to tanned hide rather than a loud logo colour. It signals a designed-in-Arizona leather wallet — warm, minimal and everyday. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.
The lesson is a cognac signals a warm, classic identity. Andar’s world is a slim, full-grain leather wallet in earthy tones. For designers, it is a reminder that a warm cognac and a pale tan can carry a leather-goods brand — a hide tone held as colour, not as a product shot. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: credit Jacob Elggren; place it in Arizona; state designed-here-made-overseas honestly; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a classical serif — warm, understated, timeless.
Andar’s identity carries a warm, understated, timeless spirit — an everyday leather object, not a loud label. A classical serif captures the mood: refined, calm and confident, the register of a full-grain leather wallet. Set in a cognac palette, the classical serif feels warm and timeless — exactly the personality Andar carries. It behaves like a made, tanned object rather than a logo, mirroring leather grain. (Andar’s real wallets and logo are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a classical-serif brand,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: warm, understated and timeless.

The slim carry
Andar stands for the designed-in-Arizona leather wallet.
Andar closes the round as its second honest designed-here-made-there brand. A cognac palette, a classical serif and a walk-and-carry name make one thing — the designed-in-Arizona leather wallet — the whole identity: warm, classic and understated. The full-grain leather is the pitch, and the plainly stated overseas manufacturing is the honesty. The point is a leather brand that runs from Arizona and makes abroad, closing a round about where things are made.
Put to work, the identity is the brand told straight, geography corrected and where-made claim kept honest. A maker in this spirit would credit Jacob Elggren, place it in Gilbert, Arizona, and state designed-here-made-overseas plainly. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: Andar sells leather wallets as its heroes — the Baron, the Pilot, the Ranger and the Mag; it was founded in 2015 by a former accountant who named it after the Spanish verb to walk or carry; it is independent and founder-led; and it designs, inspects and ships from Arizona while manufacturing overseas, primarily in China. Andar closes the round, after Ekster. The honest editorial moves are to correct the geography to Arizona, to state the overseas manufacturing, to keep the “handcrafted in Arizona” line as a description of the fulfilment operation, and to explain the name.
For designers and brand-builders, Andar closes the slim carry: keep a made-here-sounding line honest — say where the factory really is. The lessons: distinguish a design-and-fulfilment operation from the factory; credit the founder; correct a common geography error; let a meaningful name do real work; and never reproduce a mark. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Andar is the independent, founder-led leather-goods brand designed in Gilbert, Arizona and made overseas, whose name is the Spanish verb for “to walk” or “to carry” — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Read that way, Andar is less a wallet than a warm, everyday carry: classic, understated, timeless. The lesson for a brand is that a warm identity and an honest origin reinforce each other, and naming where the factory is keeps the story earned. Andar made the-designed-in-Arizona-leather-wallet the identity — proof that honesty about where-made can close a round.
