The Colombia-made carbon wallet

The Frenchie Co is the independent, brothers-founded wallet maker whose carbon-fibre Speed Wallet is handmade in Colombia from Italian leather and imported carbon fibre.

The Frenchie Co brings the slim-carry round its rare made-in-Latin-America node — a premium wallet maker that hand-assembles in Colombia rather than the usual US, EU or Asia. It was founded in 2016 by the brothers Camilo and Daniel Mejía, from Cali, after a failed hunt for the perfect slim wallet, and launched on Indiegogo. The Frenchie Co makes and sells the wallets, and its answer to a round about where things are made is a Bogotá free-trade-zone workshop and a genuinely Colombian assembly.

Its identity is the Colombia-made carbon wallet. The carbon-fibre Speed Wallet, the roll-open access and the Colombian craft are the story here. A wallet, handmade in Colombia. The Colombia-made carbon wallet.

(Honest notes, so the origin is credited and the material claim stays measured. The Frenchie Co sells slim wallets as its heroes — the Speed Wallet and its Carbon Speed Wallet — and we report its performance language as the brand’s own. It was founded by two brothers, Camilo, a civil engineer, and Daniel, a business administrator, and the brand is named after their French bulldog, Bruce. It is independent and founder-owned. On where it is made, the point that carries the round: the wallets are handmade in Colombia, at the Bogotá free-trade zone the company joined in 2019; the full-grain leather is Italian and the carbon fibre is a specialty material imported as raw stock — so we say the wallets are handcrafted in Colombia from imported Italian leather and carbon fibre, rather than implying the carbon is made there. Its “Speed Wallet” term and mechanism, and its patent and trademark claims, are the brand’s own claims we report but have not independently confirmed. Its designs are IP we describe but do not reproduce; there is no official brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)

Colour

The Frenchie Co lives in a crimson on carbon. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

The Frenchie Co’s identity is premium, sharp and modern — a Frenchie crimson, a carbon ink, a pale rose, a deep carbon, and a paper. The palette leans crimson and carbon: a carbon-weave-and-accent register that nods to the material rather than a loud logo colour. It signals a Colombia-made carbon wallet — technical, refined and bold. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.

The lesson is a crimson on carbon signals a premium, made-here identity. The Frenchie Co’s world is a slim carbon-fibre case with a quick roll-open action. For designers, it is a reminder that a single crimson against a carbon ink can carry a material brand — a weave tone held as colour, not as a texture reproduction. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: credit the Mejía brothers; place it in Colombia; separate the Colombian assembly from the imported materials; and treat any single hex as unofficial.

Typography

The register is a modern sans — premium, sharp, technical.

The Frenchie Co’s identity carries a premium, sharp, technical spirit — a material object, not a fashion label. A modern sans captures the mood: clean, precise and confident, the register of a carbon-fibre case. Set in a crimson-on-carbon palette, the modern sans feels premium and technical — exactly the personality The Frenchie Co carries. It behaves like an engineered object rather than a logo, mirroring carbon weave. (The Frenchie Co’s real wallets, the Speed Wallet mechanism and the logo are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a modern-sans brand,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: premium, sharp and technical.

The slim carry

The Frenchie Co stands for the Colombia-made carbon wallet.

The Frenchie Co brings the round its made-in-Latin-America node. A crimson-on-carbon palette, a modern sans and a Bogotá workshop make one thing — the Colombia-made carbon wallet — the whole identity: premium, sharp and modern. The Colombian craft is the pitch, and the free-trade-zone workshop is the proof. The point is a premium carbon wallet built in Colombia rather than the usual places, in a round about where things are made.

Put to work, the identity is the brand told straight, origin credited and materials separated from assembly. A maker in this spirit would credit Camilo and Daniel Mejía, place it in Colombia, and distinguish the Colombian assembly from the imported Italian leather and carbon fibre. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: The Frenchie Co sells slim wallets as its heroes, led by the Speed Wallet and Carbon Speed Wallet; it was founded in 2016 by two brothers from Cali and named after their French bulldog; it is independent and founder-owned; and it hand-assembles in Colombia, at a Bogotá free-trade zone, from imported Italian leather and carbon fibre. The Frenchie Co sits among the round’s makers, after Distil Union. The honest editorial moves are to credit the brothers, to name Colombia, to separate assembly from materials, and to report the patent and trademark language as the brand’s own claims.

For designers and brand-builders, The Frenchie Co continues the slim carry: let an unexpected made-in country be the identity — and separate assembly from imported materials. The lessons: build a brand on a distinctive place of manufacture; credit the founders; distinguish where a thing is assembled from where its materials come from; report unverified patent claims as claims; and never reproduce a signature mechanism or weave. It is also a reminder to stay precise: The Frenchie Co is the independent, brothers-founded wallet maker whose carbon-fibre Speed Wallet is handmade in Colombia from Italian leather and imported carbon fibre — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Read that way, The Frenchie Co is less a wallet than a made-in-Colombia statement: premium, sharp, technical. The lesson for a brand is that an unusual origin and honest sourcing reinforce each other, and separating assembly from materials keeps the story earned. The Frenchie Co made the-Colombia-made-carbon-wallet the identity — proof that an unexpected origin carries the round.

Editorial reference. This article reports publicly documented facts about The Frenchie Co’s visual identity as design commentary; it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, The Frenchie Co. The Frenchie name and its designs are IP of their owners — the graphics here are original abstract homages (colour discs and carbon/leather texture swatches); no wallet, mechanism or logo is reproduced, and all specimen text is set in a Google-Font stand-in. Facts reported from the brand’s own pages and Colombian business press: The Frenchie Co sells slim wallets (Speed Wallet, Carbon Speed Wallet) as its heroes; it was founded in 2016 by brothers Camilo and Daniel Mejía from Cali, Colombia (named after their French bulldog, Bruce), and launched via Indiegogo; it is independent and founder-owned; the wallets are handmade in Colombia at the Bogotá free-trade zone it joined in 2019. Honest notes: ⚠ the full-grain leather is Italian and the carbon fibre is imported raw stock, so we say the wallets are handcrafted in Colombia from imported Italian leather and carbon fibre (not that carbon is made there); ⚠ “Speed Wallet” and the brand’s patent/trademark language are reported as the company’s own claims and were not independently confirmed; the correct live domain is thefrenchie.co; all performance language is the brand’s own. No official brand hex is used, so the tones here are an unofficial interpretation.
