The Canadian mineral SPF in plastic-free packs

Attitude is the Canadian, EWG-verified mineral sun and personal care brand in plastic-free packaging.

Attitude brings the round sustainability — the Canadian natural and mineral personal-care brand, an EWG-verified maker of mineral sunscreens and household products, known for plastic-free packaging and refills. Attitude makes mineral care, and its answer to a round about sun care is packaging as much as protection: a mineral sunscreen in a plastic-free format, part of a wider natural range built to cut plastic. A brand, plastic-free.

Its identity is the Canadian mineral SPF in plastic-free packs. Attitude’s mineral formula, its EWG verification and its plastic-free packaging are the story here. A brand, plastic-free. The Canadian mineral SPF in plastic-free packs.

(Honest notes, so the story stays precise, and the claims stay the brand’s own. Attitude, at attitudeliving.com, makes natural and mineral personal care and household products — mineral sunscreens for face, body, baby and kids, plus body care, deodorant, toothpaste, hair and home cleaning — positioned as Canadian, vegan, EWG-verified, naturally-derived and plastic-free with refills, and because sunscreen is a regulated product, we report every protection claim, and the EWG, vegan, plastic-free and banned-ingredients language, strictly as the brand’s own marketing, never as established fact, and we give no sun-safety advice. It was founded in 2006 by Jean-François Bernier, with a co-founder the site references but does not name, and it is the consumer brand of the Canadian company Bio Spectra, based in the Montreal area of Quebec. On where it is made, a theme of this round, the brand says it formulates and manufactures in its own facilities, which we frame as Canada per the brand, without a specific plant address. On ownership, it is independent and privately held under Bio Spectra, and we name no investor. We do not assert an unverified carbon-neutral claim. Its name, logo and certification badges are IP we describe but do not reproduce; there is no official brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)

Colour

Attitude lives in a clean green. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

Attitude’s identity is natural, clean and sustainable — a clean green, an ink, a leaf, a deep green, and a paper. The palette leans clean green and leaf: a fresh, plant-based register that nods to a natural formula and a plastic-free pack rather than a loud palette. It signals mineral, sustainable care. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.

The lesson is a clean green signals a natural, sustainable identity. Attitude’s world is a considered, made object. For designers, it is a reminder that a clean green and a soft leaf can carry a care brand — the tone of sustainability. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: cut the plastic; verify the formula; report claims as marketing; and treat any single hex as unofficial.

Typography

The register is a plastic-free sans — natural, plain, clean.

Attitude’s identity carries a natural, plain, clean spirit — a sustainable care brand, not a fashion. A plastic-free sans captures the mood: clean, natural and confident, the register of a mineral, eco brand. Set in a clean-green palette, the plastic-free sans feels natural and clean — exactly the personality Attitude carries. It is a value rather than a logo, mirroring a sunscreen and zinc. (Attitude’s real packaging and badges are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a plastic-free-sans care,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: natural, plain and clean.

The SPF spectrum

Attitude stands for the Canadian mineral SPF in plastic-free packs.

Attitude brings the round sustainability. A clean-green palette, a plastic-free sans and a mineral formula make one thing — the Canadian mineral SPF in plastic-free packs — the whole identity: natural, clean and sustainable. The mineral protection is the substance, and the plastic-free packaging is the pitch. The point is a sunscreen where the pack matters as much as the formula, inside a wider natural range.

Put to work, the identity is sustainability told straight, as design. A maker in this spirit would cut the plastic, verify the formula, and report claims as marketing. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: Attitude makes mineral sunscreens and natural care; it was founded in 2006 by Jean-François Bernier, the consumer brand of Canada’s Bio Spectra, in the Montreal area; it says it makes in its own facilities, framed as Canada per the brand; and it is independent and privately held, its EWG, vegan and plastic-free credentials its own claims. Attitude joins Raw Elements and Pacifica on the round’s mineral and clean thread. The honest editorial moves are to date it to 2006, to name Bio Spectra, to say own-facilities/Canada, to omit an unverified carbon claim, and to report the certifications as the brand’s own. The lesson Attitude teaches is that packaging values can be a whole identity, and reporting the certifications as claims keeps it credible.

For designers and brand-builders, Attitude continues the SPF spectrum: cut the plastic — and verify the formula. The lessons: make packaging a core value, like plastic-free refills; lean on third-party verification, reported as a claim; keep a mineral, natural formula; report protection and eco language strictly as your own; and never reproduce a certification badge. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Attitude is the Canadian, EWG-verified mineral sun and personal care brand in plastic-free packaging — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Read that way, Attitude is less a bottle than a value: protection with less plastic. The lesson for a brand is that values and honest claims reinforce each other, and omitting an unverified carbon claim keeps the story earned. Attitude made the-Canadian-mineral-SPF-in-plastic-free-packs the identity — proof that a value can define a brand.

Source & notes

Editorial reference. This article reports publicly documented facts about Attitude’s visual identity as design commentary; it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Attitude or Bio Spectra. The ATTITUDE name, logo, and certification marks (EWG VERIFIED®) are IP of their owner — the graphics here are original abstract homages (colour discs and sunscreen/zinc texture swatches); no bottle, logo, or certification badge is reproduced, and all specimen text is set in a Google-Font stand-in. Facts reported from the maker’s site (attitudeliving.com): Attitude makes natural/mineral personal care and household products (mineral sunscreens for face/body/baby/kids, plus body care, deodorant, toothpaste, hair, home cleaning), positioned as Canadian, vegan, EWG VERIFIED®, naturally-derived and plastic-free/refillable; founded 2006 by Jean-François Bernier (a co-founder is referenced but not named on-site); it is the consumer brand of Bio Spectra Inc. (Montreal area, Quebec). Honest notes: the brand says it formulates/manufactures in its “own facilities” — framed as Canada per the brand, no plant address stated; it is independent and privately held (no investor named); a carbon-neutral claim was not verified in sources and is not asserted; all SPF/broad-spectrum, EWG, vegan, plastic-free and “banned-ingredients” statements are the brand’s own marketing, reported neutrally, never as established/settled fact, and no sun-safety advice is given. No official brand hex is used, so the tones here are an unofficial interpretation.
