Ciele Athletics Brand Guidelines
Everybody run.

Two constants: a bold, vivid palette and a bold grotesque register. Abstract homage — not the Ciele wordmark or logo.
Everybody run
Ciele made the running cap iconic.
Ciele Athletics is a lesson in owning a category through design. Founded in 2014 by Mike Giles and Jeremy Bresnen in Montréal, the independent, B-Corp-certified brand made its name with technical running caps — its GOCap, “the original 5-panel cap” — before expanding into full apparel.
Its brand identity is bold, vivid and technical — lightweight recycled fabrics, UPF 40+ sun protection, reflective detailing and a “Million Miles Guarantee,” all wrapped in bright, named colourways and city-edition “World Wide Movement” releases. Its rallying cry is “#everybodyrun / #toutlemondecourt.”
(Honest notes: the co-founders are Mike Giles and Jeremy Bresnen. It’s Canadian (Montréal), caps-first with apparel added later. The bold identity lives in named colourways, not a published hex system, so the colours here are an unofficial interpretation.)
Colour
Ciele lives in a bold, vivid palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Ciele’s identity is bold, vivid and energetic — a burgundy, an ocean, a light moss, a mulberry, and a bone. Rather than one fixed brand colour, Ciele works in bright, named colourways — a burgundy, an ocean, a light moss — that change season to season. It signals energy, colour and community rather than restraint. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is bold, vivid colour signals energy and community. Ciele’s world is a colourful run crew. For designers, it is a reminder that bright, named colourways — a burgundy, an ocean, a moss — read as energetic and joyful, right for a brand built on caps and community. The takeaways: use bold, vivid colour; give colourways names and cities; and treat any single hex as unofficial — using ink for small text so the colours stay vivid.
Typography
The register is a bold grotesque — confident and energetic.
Ciele’s identity carries a bold, energetic, community spirit — colour, caps and run crews. A bold, characterful grotesque captures the mood: it is confident and energetic, the register of a bright colourway and a community drop. Set against vivid colour, the bold grotesque feels confident and energetic — exactly the personality Ciele carries. It is energetic rather than quiet, mirroring a bright cap. (Ciele’s real wordmark is a trademark we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact brand typeface is not ours to use.) Because the mark is not ours to use, the honest description is “a bold grotesque spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: bold, energetic and community.

Colour as identity
Ciele stands for bold, inclusive running.
Ciele Athletics is a lesson in making colour and community the identity. A bold, vivid palette, a category-defining cap and an inclusive “everybody run” ethos make joyful energy the whole brand — colourful, technical, community-driven. The colour is the differentiator. The differentiator is a bold, vivid, community identity.
For designers and brand-builders, Ciele offers a clear takeaway: own a category and make it colourful. The lessons: define a product (the running cap); make colour a system (named colourways, city editions); and build community (“everybody run”). It is also a reminder to stay accurate: the co-founders are Giles and Bresnen, it’s caps-first and Canadian, and the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. Ciele made colour the brand — proof that joy can be the difference.
