Good plus noodles

Goodles makes mac and cheese nutritious.

Goodles is a lesson in making comfort food guilt-free and loud about it. Launched in 2021 and co-founded by actress Gal Gadot with CEO Jen Zeszut and industry veterans, it makes nutrient-dense mac and cheese — around 14g of protein, added fibre and prebiotics, and “21 nutrients from plants” (broccoli, spinach, kale and more) — comfort food you don’t have to feel guilty about. Its name is a simple pun: “good” + “noodles.”

Its personality is bold, cheeky and pun-forward — grown-up flavours and playful product names like Cheddy Mac, Twist My Parm and Shella Good — wrapped in a loud, bright, maximalist, retro-pop identity. It grew fast into some 35,000 stores.

(Honest notes: Goodles is nutrient-dense mac and cheese, real comfort food with added protein, fibre and plant nutrients; Gal Gadot is a genuine co-founder, not just a celebrity endorser; its name is “good” + “noodles”; and on ownership, Goodles is no longer independent — pasta giant Barilla acquired it in 2026, though it continues to operate as a standalone brand from Santa Cruz, California, with Jen Zeszut still leading. No official brand hex is published.)

Colour

Goodles lives in a bold retro-pop palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

Goodles’ identity is loud, bright and maximalist — a mac-and-cheese gold, a hot cheddar orange, a cherry red, a superfood green, and a retro teal. The palette reads like its box: cheesy golds and oranges cranked up with punchy pop colours. It signals fun and indulgence-made-better rather than earnest “health food.” The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.

The lesson is a bold retro-pop palette signals fun, better-for-you comfort food. Goodles’ world reads as loud and joyful. For designers, it is a reminder that a cheesy-gold anchor plus punchy pop colours conveys indulgent fun with a wink, matching a brand whose voice is cheeky and whose food is comfort-made-better. The takeaways: anchor on an appetising, on-category colour (mac gold); crank up punchy pop accents; and treat any single hex as unofficial — using a near-black for small text so the loud hues stay in the palette.

Typography

The wordmark spirit is a loud display — bold and playful.

Goodles’ identity carries a loud, playful, cheeky spirit — a “GOODLES” wordmark whose bold forms match a fun, pun-forward comfort-food brand. A loud display type captures the mood: it is expressive and maximalist, the register of a cheeky, joyful brand rather than an earnest health label. Set against a bold retro-pop palette, the loud display feels bold and playful — exactly the good-plus-noodles, comfort-made-better personality Goodles carries. It is expressive rather than restrained, mirroring a loud, joyful product. (Goodles’ real wordmark is a trademark we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not something we assert.) Because the specific mark is not ours to use, the honest description is “a loud display spirit,” not the Goodles logo. The type behaves like the brand: loud, playful and cheeky.

Fun plus function as the difference

Goodles stands for comfort food made better, loudly.

Goodles is a lesson in making better-for-you food fun rather than earnest. It took a nostalgic guilty pleasure — boxed mac and cheese — and quietly packed it with protein, fibre and plant nutrients, then wrapped it in a loud, cheeky, maximalist identity that refuses to look like health food. That contrast — serious nutrition, playful brand — plus a genuine celebrity co-founder, is what made Goodles stand out fast. The differentiator is fun: it hides the function behind joy.

For designers and brand-builders, Goodles offers a clear takeaway: better-for-you can win by being playful, not preachy. The lessons: sneak the nutrition into a beloved comfort food; make the brand loud and joyful rather than earnest; and let a cheeky voice and bold design carry it. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: Goodles is a genuine nutrient-dense mac and cheese, Gal Gadot is a real co-founder, and it is now owned by Barilla (2026) though it operates as a standalone brand — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Goodles made function fun — proof that playful better-for-you can be the difference.
