The athlete’s ring by Zepp

Amazfit is the Helio Ring by US-listed Zepp Health (ex-Huami), an athlete-focused, no-subscription ring no longer tied to Xiaomi.

Amazfit brings the round its athlete node — the Helio Ring, an athlete-focused recovery tracker from Zepp Health, the company that once built Xiaomi’s fitness bands and has since grown into its own brand. Its answer to a round about who owns the smart ring and where it is made is a corporate one with a correction: a brand of the US-listed Zepp Health, made in China, no longer a Xiaomi operation.

Its identity is the athlete’s ring by Zepp. The athlete-and-recovery focus, the Zepp Health ownership and the wound-down Xiaomi tie are the story here. A ring, athletic. The athlete’s ring by Zepp.

(Honest notes, so the ownership, the corporate history and the Xiaomi correction are framed accurately. Amazfit sells the Helio Ring as its ring hero — crafted for athletes, with a recovery-and-readiness focus, a light titanium-alloy build, water resistance, several days of battery and PPG, temperature and electrodermal sensors, feeding the Zepp app and its AI sleep coach — within a broader Amazfit line of watches, and we report its language as the brand’s own. On ownership: Amazfit is the flagship consumer brand of Zepp Health Corporation, a Cayman-incorporated, US-listed company on the NYSE, so we describe the structure — China-founded, Cayman-incorporated, US-listed — rather than a single headquarters. On the corporate history: the company was founded in 2013 as Huami and renamed Zepp Health in 2021, so Amazfit and Zepp are the same company. On the Xiaomi correction that matters: it began as a Xiaomi ecosystem company and the contract maker of Xiaomi’s Mi Band, with Xiaomi an early investor, but Xiaomi-related revenue has fallen sharply to a small minority, so it is not owned or controlled by Xiaomi and Amazfit is Zepp’s own independent brand. On finances, stated factually: it is public and growing fast on the top line but still unprofitable, a small-cap turnaround. On where it is made: China. Its designs, the Amazfit and Zepp names are IP we describe but do not reproduce; third-party marks in its ecosystem are others’; there is no verified brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)

Colour

Amazfit lives in a sport coral. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

Amazfit’s identity is athletic, recovery-focused and independent — a sport coral, an ink, a pale terracotta, a deep rust, and a paper. The palette leans sport coral and pale terracotta: an energetic, athletic register that nods to recovery and readiness rather than a loud logo colour. It signals the athlete’s ring by Zepp — athletic, recovery-focused and independent. The honest caveat: with no verified brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.

The lesson is a sport coral signals an athletic, recovery-focused identity. Amazfit’s world is a ring an athlete wears for recovery and readiness. For designers, it is a reminder that an energetic sport coral and a soft pale terracotta can carry a hardware brand — an athletic tone held as colour, not a product shot. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: name Zepp Health as owner and describe the China-founded, US-listed structure; note the Huami rename; correct the Xiaomi tie as wound down; keep it a no-subscription athlete ring; and place manufacturing in China.

Typography

The register is a sport sans — athletic, recovery-focused, independent.

Amazfit’s identity carries an athletic, recovery-focused, independent spirit — a sport-tech brand that outgrew its origins, not a contract maker. A sport sans captures the mood: clean, energetic and current, the register of a recovery-and-readiness device. Set in a sport-coral palette, the sport sans feels athletic and recovery-focused — exactly the personality Amazfit carries. It behaves like a made, functional thing rather than a loud logo, mirroring a pulse wave and a sensor-dot array. (Amazfit’s real products and the names are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a sport-sans brand,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: athletic, recovery-focused and independent.

The smart ring

Amazfit stands for the athlete’s ring by Zepp.

Amazfit brings the round its athlete node. A sport-coral palette, a sport sans and a 2013 founding make one thing — the athlete’s ring by Zepp — the whole identity: athletic, recovery-focused and independent. The athlete-and-recovery focus is the pitch, and the Zepp Health ownership is the frame. The point is the ring from the company that outgrew making Xiaomi’s bands, in a round about who owns the smart ring and where it is made.

Put to work, the identity is the brand told straight, the ownership named and the Xiaomi tie corrected. A brand in this spirit would name Zepp Health, note the Huami rename, and correct the Xiaomi tie as wound down. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: Amazfit sells the Helio Ring as its ring hero within a broader watch line; it is Zepp Health’s flagship consumer brand, US-listed on the NYSE; it was founded in 2013 as Huami and renamed in 2021; Xiaomi-related revenue has fallen to a small minority, so it is not Xiaomi-owned; and it is made in China. Amazfit sits fifth in the round, after Movano. The honest editorial moves are to name Zepp Health, to describe the structure, to note the Huami rename, to correct the Xiaomi tie, and to place manufacturing in China.

For designers and brand-builders, Amazfit continues the smart ring: outgrow a contract-manufacturing origin — and correct a wound-down giant relationship precisely. The lessons: a company can graduate from building a giant’s products to running its own independent brand; a former parent-and-ecosystem relationship can wind down, and the correction — not Xiaomi-owned, revenue tie small — matters; a public company’s finances should be described factually, growing but unprofitable; and a brand and its corporate entity, Amazfit and Zepp Health, should be named distinctly. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Amazfit is the Helio Ring by US-listed Zepp Health (ex-Huami), an athlete-focused, no-subscription ring no longer tied to Xiaomi — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. The hook is that graduation: Amazfit’s parent once built Xiaomi’s fitness bands as Huami, but it renamed itself Zepp Health, cut its Xiaomi revenue to a small minority, and now sells its own athlete-focused Helio Ring with no subscription — a US-listed, China-made brand that outgrew its origins. Read that way, Amazfit is less a contract maker than the athlete’s ring by Zepp: athletic, recovery-focused, independent. The lesson for a brand is that independence and a precise relationship correction reinforce each other, and stating the wound-down Xiaomi tie keeps the story earned. Amazfit made the-athlete’s-ring-by-Zepp the identity — proof that independence can carry a round.

Editorial reference. This article reports publicly documented facts about Amazfit’s visual identity as design commentary; it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Amazfit, Zepp Health or Xiaomi. The Amazfit and Zepp names and their designs are IP of their owners — the graphics here are original abstract homages (colour discs and pulse-wave / sensor-dot texture swatches); no ring, sensor or logo is reproduced, nothing is conflated with Xiaomi’s marks, and all specimen text is set in a Google-Font stand-in. Facts reported: Amazfit is the flagship consumer brand of Zepp Health Corporation (Cayman-incorporated; files a Form 20-F; principal offices listed in Gorinchem, Netherlands, with roots/major operations in China (Hefei) and a US office in Milpitas, CA — a China-founded, Cayman-incorporated, US-listed structure), publicly traded on the NYSE (ZEPP); the company was founded in 2013 as Huami (by Wang Huang) and renamed Zepp Health in 2021; its ring hero is the Amazfit Helio Ring (2024, athlete recovery/readiness; titanium-alloy, ~4-day battery; PPG, temperature and EDA sensors; feeds the Zepp app and Zepp Aura sleep coach; “No Subscriptions Required”), within a broader Amazfit watch line; it is made in China (Hefei). Honest notes: ⚠ Amazfit/Zepp is NOT owned or controlled by Xiaomi — it began as a Xiaomi ecosystem company and Mi Band contract maker, but Xiaomi-related revenue fell from ~40% (2023) to ~8% (2025), a diluted minority; Amazfit is Zepp’s own independent brand and the same company as Huami (renamed 2021); ⚠ it is public and growing fast on the top line but still unprofitable (a small-cap turnaround); third-party ecosystem marks (Strava, adidas, komoot, Xiaomi/Mi Band) are others’, mentioned factually with no implied endorsement; the Amazfit/Zepp marks are protected. No official brand hex is verified, so the tones here are an unofficial interpretation.
