A faucet brand on a runway

Delta Faucet’s premium label and the Greek goddess behind its name.

Brizo is the premium brand of Delta Faucet Company, and it began with a fashion show. PHCP Pros, a trade publication for the plumbing industry, reported in May 2014 that “Brizo was launched in April 2004 on a fashion runway in downtown Chicago.” The article said the unveiling came at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show, and that a customer event the night before the show gave the first look at the new brand, with models and faucets sharing the stage.

The name comes from antiquity. English Wikipedia describes Brizo as a minor Greek goddess venerated on the island of Delos as a protector of mariners, sailors and fishermen, and as an oracular deity associated with dreams; it says her name derives from a Greek verb meaning “to slumber”. The 2014 PHCP Pros article drew on the same story, describing her as a goddess the ancient Greeks worshipped as a protector of sailors and mariners, and it carried the brand’s idea of itself in its headline: “Brizo — the brand that dreams”.

That article set out how the company wanted the brand understood. It described Brizo as “a fashion label that dreams”, and then as much more than that, with an emphasis on design and performance. It also placed the brand inside its parent: according to PHCP Pros, Brizo is housed within Delta Faucet’s world headquarters, and its designs are built in house from inception to production. English Wikipedia places Delta Faucet’s headquarters in Indiana.

The designers behind the products were named in the same piece. PHCP Pros identified Judd Lord as director of industrial design and Seth Fritz and Celine Kwok as lead industrial designers, and it mentioned collections including Loki, Sotria and Artesso.

Jason Wu, a matte black line and a Masco brand.

The fashion connection outlived the launch. PHCP Pros reported in 2014 that “since 2006, Brizo has been the primary sponsor of” the fashion designer Jason Wu, and that Wu had created exclusive designs for the brand, some of which were auctioned to benefit DIFFA, the design industry’s charity. The same article said that in 2010 Brizo became a national sponsor of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Dream Home Giveaway.

The partnership turned into products. Kitchen & Bath Business reported on 12 December 2011, under the headline “Brizo Debuts Fashion-Forward Collaboration”, that Brizo and Jason Wu had teamed up on a new line of bath fittings and accessories due to launch in spring 2012, and it repeated that the two had first partnered in 2006. The magazine described the collection as combining “sleek Scandinavian design and Baroque detailing, along with a distinctive matte black finish”.

Behind Brizo sits a larger group. Delta Faucet Company is a subsidiary of Masco Corporation, according to English Wikipedia, and Masco’s annual report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2025 lists BRIZO among the brand names under which its faucets, showerheads and related products are sold, primarily in North America, Europe and China, alongside DELTA, PEERLESS, HANSGROHE and AXOR.

On manufacturing, the parent’s disclosure is broad rather than brand-specific. The same 2025 Masco filing says its plumbing products are manufactured primarily in North America and Europe as well as in Asia, and does not break that down by brand. English Wikipedia records that in February 2025 Masco folded Brasstech and the Newport Brass brand into its Delta Faucet division, according to a report in Supply House Times, bringing another premium fittings name under the same roof as Brizo.

Design and documentation.

The brands in this group all make faucets and bath fittings: the taps, spouts, shower valves, drains and accessories that sit at the most visible points of a kitchen or bathroom. Brands in this trade sit at many different points in it, from family firms that still carry a founder’s outlook to names that now belong to much larger building-products groups, and a single brand may be sold through specialist showrooms, trade counters, home centres or online.

A fittings brand’s identity is usually carried less by a single logo than by a set of finishes, a catalogue of named collections and the shapes of its handles and spouts, because the company behind the name may have changed hands, moved its manufacturing or grown far beyond the place where it started. That makes the questions behind each name worth asking plainly: who started it, who owns it now, and where its fittings are actually made and finished.

Each guide separates what independent sources record from what the company says about itself — its founding story, its owners over time, where its products are made and how its range has changed — and marks plainly what rests only on the company’s own word.

Brizo

A brand told through fashion, a myth and a finish.

Brizo presents itself through fashion. The launch on a Chicago runway in 2004, the long sponsorship of Jason Wu that began in 2006, and the designer-named collection announced in 2011 all point the same way: runway, designer and faucet are presented together. The 2014 PHCP Pros profile summed up that position in the phrase “a fashion label that dreams”.

The name gives the brand its story. The brand takes its name from a Greek goddess of Delos, honoured as a protector of sailors and linked with dreams, and the 2014 trade profile tied the brand’s own talk of dreaming to her. The name differs from Delta’s, although, as PHCP Pros reported, Brizo is housed within Delta Faucet’s world headquarters and its designs are developed in house.

Finish is the brand’s most visible signature. The Jason Wu line was introduced with a matte black finish that Kitchen & Bath Business called distinctive in 2011, describing a pairing of Scandinavian design with Baroque detailing. Named collections such as Loki, Sotria and Artesso, credited to an in-house industrial design team, sit alongside it in the range.

Ownership is simple to state. Brizo is a brand of Delta Faucet Company, which belongs to Masco Corporation, and Masco’s 2025 annual report still lists BRIZO among the names under which its plumbing products are sold. The domain brizo.com belongs to the brand; searches for the word also return the Greek goddess.

For a design guide, Brizo shows how a mass-market parent can launch a premium label with its own name, myth and fashion partner, and keep the two clearly apart. Compare its parent brand in our Delta Faucet brand guidelines and a premium fittings name that now sits in the same Delta Faucet division in our Newport Brass brand guidelines. For this guide we use matte black, brushed nickel, Aegean slate and porcelain with a sans, an unofficial interpretation; no product or logo is reproduced.
